C.E. King High School and Stadium

Location Houston, Texas Year 2019 Client Huckabee
A new high school and stadium to train and educate generations to come.

Between 2000 and 2010, Sheldon ISD saw an enrollment growth of 61.5% with an annual growth rate of five percent, eventually prompting the development of a new high school and stadium located on 185 acres in northeast Houston. The new high school is a three-story building with a prominent rotunda, and the new stadium serves as a secondary site feature, with practice fields and a building for football programing designed to complement the stadium. Pacheco Koch was the civil engineering firm, providing landscape architecture and surveying services, and successfully addressed various site issues such as the avoidance of defined wetland areas, detention requirements, no available surrounding water or sewer services, and variance requirements from the City’s subdivision ordinance. In order to keep the project on track, the firm held multiple reviewing authority coordination meetings.
